Ghost movies are a topic of the so-called horror cinema. Only that after so many stories, nothing surprises anymore, and you have to be very good to make an original story one hundred percent.
The Last House On Cemetery Lane (whose title refers even laterally to Lucio Fulvi’s film, The House By The Cemetery) is a strange film, since it takes elements of the supernatural to combine them with other more earthly ones.
It happens that The Last House… is a typical English film: few actors, limited scenery, and although the accent is divided between dialogue and action, the scarcity of characters makes the viewer quickly set his sights on any of them, and in this case, he will have a 25% chance of getting it right.
In itself, the film doesn’t have anything that jumps out, although I must admit that the old trick of the shadows moving behind the protagonists helps to maintain the tension. But behind it there is nothing else. It’s only at the end that things pick up a bit of interest. And just as you get there, it’s all over pretty quickly.

I was really looking forward to reading Under Our Skin as I was keen to see how the author unfolded and honestly, this read has left me a bit stunned. Putting aside whether I liked it or not (which I didn’t), objectively the book is not good in many ways. It is not well written, the plots are not well managed, the characters are not well constructed, etc., etc.I did not find the friendship between the three main characters at all plausible, because beyond the fact that they eat and drink, they do not have a good relationship with each other.
I have read this book literally in two days, it has hooked me a lot. I’ll sum it all up with the sentence I put on the back cover: «Josu is here to stay with this highly addictive and impossible to put down novel». PS: I would love to read a second part, so Josu, you know… hehe.
